Welcome to the Koosh Baseball League web-site. Koosh Baseball was invented
by Matt Judge in the Spring of 1999. Having come from a place where he had ample room to play baseball to a very small backyard,
he had to change the game of baseball. He first noticed that when he hit a Kooshball with his metal baseball bat, it traveled
at a far less distance than a baseball would. Eventually the game evolved so that a small, 22-inch wooden mini-bat replaced
the aluminum one. In the summer of 2000 Ben Judge developed and created a set rules for the game, and the sport
could now be used to play official games.
The first full KBL season was played in
the spring/summer 2001 on Silver Ash Ct. in Burtonsville, MD. We started with five players (each "team" consisting
of one individual).
The Orioles (Collin) defeated the Red Sox (Ben) in the first World Series
Championship 3 games to 1.
The second season, 2002, had a slightly larger
league with six teams.
The Red Sox (Ben) defeated the Marlins (Matt) in an exciting
7 game championship series.
The third season, 2003, consisted
of the same six teams as 2002. The champion for this season was the Orioles (Collin) over the Braves (Tyler) in 6 games.
The fourth season, 2004, is here. This
year there are only 5 teams, each playing 16 games. Kienan is gone and Dan is now the Diamondbacks.
